Team X Fire Black Places Second at Matt's Outback 5-Man Open Tournament

On Sunday, July 17, 2005, Team X Fire Black took Second Place at Matt’s Outback in a 5-Man Open Tournament that saw 18 teams battle in Coventry, CT.

The Tournament was held on a hot and humid July day which saw 18 teams fighting for the six spots in the final round. X Fire Black came in second in the prelims, X Fire Blue came in tenth and X Fire Red came in Twelfth against Open level teams. First Wave came in First in the prelims.

In the first game of the finals X Fire Black was paired against First Wave. X Fire Black stood up to the task and took the game. They then took the next game but stumbled against Deadbox. In the final game of the day for X Fire Black they were up against Team 413 which had not been defeated in the final round. X Fire Black took the game but Team 413 was awarded the first pull of the flag which gave them enough points to take first place for the tournament. X Fire Black took second. First Wave took third and Deadbox took fourth.
