Five teams turned out on Saturday, July 25th at West End Paintball to compete in X Fire’s 2009 Rookie Tournament Series.

Each team played every other team three times giving everyone a chance to learn from their prior games against their opponents.

Team Train Wreck came away with first place in the first round with 290 points. Free Ballin was close behind with 280 and not far behind them was Team All Fired Up with 235 points. Next in line were the DV8’s with 135 points and then the Local Assassins with 130 points.

In the second round Free Ballin gained 320 points to move into first place with a total of 600 points. All Fired Up added 200 points to move into second place with 435 points. Train Wreck crashed, gaining only 70 points to slip into third place with a total of 360 points. The DV8’s picked up 210 points, the second best team in the second round, to keep fourth place with a total of 345 points and the Local Assassins also did well in the second round gaining another 195 points putting them into fifth place with 325 points, just 20 behind the DV8’s.

In the third and final round of the tournament Team Train Wreck picked up steam and won more points in the third round than any other team with 290. All Fired Up won 270 points, the second best performance in the third round. Free Ballin earned 225 points for third best in the final round. Close behind were the DV8’s with 215 points and then the Local Assassins brought in 60 points in their final round.

The final scores put Free Ballin in First Place with 825 points. Second went to All Fired Up with 705 points. Train Wreck came into the station with 650 points and third place. In fourth, after a great second round, were the DV8’s with a total of 560 points and finally the Local Assassins were fifth with 385.

All in all, it was a great day with every team having wins and losses and every player and team having a chance to learn from the games early in the day to improve their individual and team skills.
