3-MAN ROOKIE X FIRE TOURNEY, SATURDAY, JULY 28, 2007

Eight teams took to the field at West End Paintball for the third tourney of 2007 season.

Each team got to play every other team twice to determine the best teams of the day in a schedule that included 112 games and that left little doubt who was top dog for the day.

Every team had the chance to play 14 games and no team was able to walk off the field with at least three defeats. So no one totally dominated the day.

At the half way point of the tournament, when each team had played seven games, Retribution had no losses and had 680 points, X Fire Devils had 480 points and were in second place, the Evil Demons were in third with 420 points, Team Black, who you may remember from the last tournament, were in fourth place with 405 points, in fifth were X Fire Crush with 350 points, next came Jolt with 305, then Silent Rampage with 225 points, then the Barre Rats with 10 points.

In the second half of the tournament Retribution still did well but three teams figured out how to beat them. However, with their first half lead and 4 victories in the second half, Retribution ended up in First Place with 1,105 points.

Team Black fought back from fourth place in the first half with 6 out of 7 victories in the second half to come in with an impressive 970 points overall for Second Place in the tournament.

X Fire Crush won five of its last seven games to pull itself up from its fifth place position at the end of the first half to earn a total of 870 points which gave it Third Place.

Just 30 points behind were the Evil Demons with 840 points who ended up in fourth place. In fifth place with 755 points was team Jolt, Silent Rampage was in sixth with 375 points.

The Barre Rats were putting up a good fight but elected to withdraw from the tournament after the eighth game.

X Fire Devils ended the tournament with 875 points but because it had a player with prior experience it entered the tournament knowing that it was not eligible for consideration for placement in the final positions or for trophies or prizes.

The top three teams received trophies. Prizes included 3 Extreme Rage packs, 3 cases of Evil paint and Paintball DVD’s
